Description
Do you know how your digital camera works, but you aren’t always getting the shots you want? Are you a total beginner? Spend a day learning photography with Christopher Manson in Malton.
This workshop is geared towards beginners wanting to learn how to take better photos as well as more advanced photographers seeking a refresher course.
Christopher will encourage you to leave your comfort zone by getting off Automatic Mode and guide you through the very basics of photography. By the end of the course you will have gained knowledge about:
• Shutter Speeds, Aperture, F-Stops (how to use them creatively)
• ISO and photosensitivity
• White balance (how to avoid blue and yellow casts in your photography
• Focusing
• Camera Programs (the main programs explained)
• Composition, the Rule-of-Thirds
What to Bring
Your own digital SLR camera, bridge camera, or point-and-shoot camera (provided it has manual settings) and any lenses along with the camera’s manual, your tripod if you have one, some warm clothes for outside photography, and a bite to eat for lunch. It would be great to see a small selection of photos you have taken, this would give me an idea of your interests and skill level -- 5 photos would be great, digital or prints.
Reviews and Comments from past workshop participants:
It was great to understand what the features were on my camera and how to use them to take better pictures. I just need to practice now. - Joanne Jackson
This was the second of two workshops with Chris. I now feel that I have the knowledge, understanding and perhaps most important , the confidence to use my camera off auto, and now fully manual.- Judy Holmes
Chris is very helpful and engages with his audience. I have learnt much more in this course than others I have attended. - David Brown
